It is important to deal with the rubbish in cities. Rubbish must be treated properly. Otherwise it may cause a lot of problems. It may pollute the air and water. When people breathe the polluted air or drink the polluted water, they may get iii.
Our city has begun to pay attention to the problem. As far as I know, some rubbish is sorted and sent to different factories. Rubbish,such as old newspapers and glass, is recycled.
Some harmful rubbish is sent to a certain place and buried.Waste air is cleaned before it goes into the air. Waste water is treated before it is poured into rivers。
To protect the environment, the government has passed laws to prevent people from throwing rubbish everywhere. We should do our best to take good care of the environment and fight against pollution.

拯救我们的城市

Early rising benefits us in many ways.
First, it helps to keep us fit. We all need fresh air. Besides, by taking morning exercises we can improve our health.
Second, it can help us in our studies. In the morning we can learn more quickly.
Third, it can enable us to plan our work for the day. We cannot work well without a proper plan. Early rising can also give us enough time to get ready for our work.
So we say that those who always get up late should make great effort to get up early.

May 3rd Fine
Today we visited Red Star Farm.
Early in the morning, we met at the school gate and went there together. About two hours later, we arrived. On arriving there, we were given a warm welcome by the farm workers. Then one of the workers showed us around the farm. We were very glad to see the crops and vegetables growing so well. At noon, we had a picnic happily.
After the picnic, we enjoyed ourselves in the sunshine. We listened to music, dancing and singing. Some were talking happily and even two of our classmates played chess. How time flies! It was time for us to leave though we didn't want to. It was really an unforgettable visit for us.

今天我们参观了红星农场。
一大早，我们就在校门口集合，然后一块去那儿。两个小时后，我们就到了那儿。一到那儿，工人伯伯们热烈地欢迎我们，其中有一位工人伯伯带领我们到处参观农场。看到庄稼和蔬菜长势那么好，我们感到非常高兴。中午，我们在那儿愉快地进行了野炊。
野炊后，我们在阳光下听音乐、唱歌、跳舞，玩得可开心了。
一些人在愉快地谈论着什么，其中有两位还下起了象棋。时间过得真快啊!我们依依不舍地离开了农场。这真是一次令人难忘的参观啊!

Dear Miss Morgan,
I am so sorry that I won't be able to attend the lecture on American history tomorrow afternoon. My uncle is returning home from France, and I have promised to meet him at the airport at 3:30 tomorrow afternoon. I am very much interested in American .society and history. May 28th Monday Cloudy
This afternoon we had a PE lesson. Our teacher taught us to practise the long jump. When the bell rang, we gathered on the playground. After warming-up exercises, the teacher told us the way of long jump and showed us how to do it. Then we followed the teacher and practised one after another. Soon came my turn, but I felt a hit nervous. Though I failed the first time, yet I didn't lose my heart. I kept on practising. At last I was able to jump over 3 meters.
From this lesson I came to see that one will succeed if he has perseverance.

今天下午我们有体育课，老师教我们练习跳远。铃响后，我们．就在操场集合。准备活动完后，老师告诉我们跳远的方法并做了示范，然后我们就跟着老师一个一个地练习。不久，轮到我了,但我感到有点紧张。虽然第一次失败了，但我没灰心，继续坚持练。最后我终于跳过了3米。
从这节体育课中我深刻地体会到一个道理：做任何事情只要有恒心就一定能成功。

Nov. 17th Sunday Fine
This morning, after finishing all my homework, I went to the People's Park together with my classmate Mary to fly a kite. We got a very nice kite, and it was such a lovely day. So we were sure to have a lot of fun.
I began to fly the kite. Once it went up into the sky, I began to run very fast, and hoped that it would go higher and higher. Then suddenly I felt something wrong. Looking up into the sky, I was disappointed to find that the kite had got broken. In no time the broken kite and rope fell over me. What a fool! I sat on the grass, feeling rather ashamed of what I had done.
Then Mary comforted me, saying, "Now, you know what makes a kite fly high. It's patience and skills. "Yes, I've learned a good lesson today.

放风筝

今天早晨，我做完作业后和同学玛丽一块到人民公园里去放风筝。我们买到一只非常漂亮的风筝。天气那么好，我们决定玩个痛快。
我开始放风筝了。它一飞上天空我就开始飞快地跟着跑，希望它飞得越来越高。突然我发现有些不对劲，我抬头望天空，却失望地发现风筝断了。风筝和线立刻跌落在我的面前。我真笨!我坐．在草丛里，非常羞愧。
玛丽走过来安慰我道：“现在你明白了怎样才能让风筝飞得更高了，它需要耐心和技巧。”是的，今天我就好好地给自己上了一堂课。

It was snowing heavily on Monday morning. Li Hua was at the bus stop, waiting for Bus No.601 to go to school. After a while, a bus came and she got on it. There were many passengers in the bus.Some were talking and some were looking out of the windows. Suddenly the bus stopped. The driver turned around and said, "Sorry. The bus has broken down. Please get off and help push the bus."When they heard this, Li Hua and the other passengers got off the bus.They worked hard together, pushing the bus slowly forward. Soon the bus was running again. All the passengers were smiling and the sun was shining.

汽车发生故障
星期一的早晨，天下着大雪。李华在公共汽车站等待601路车去学校。一会儿，一辆汽车过来了，她上了车。公共汽车上有许多乘客，一些在聊天，一些在向窗口外看。突然，车停了。司机师傅转过脸来对大家说，“抱歉!汽车发生了故障。请你们下车帮忙推一下好吗。”听到这些话，李华和其他乘客下了车。他们一起用力推，车终于慢慢地动了起来。不一会儿，车又开始跑了起来。所有的乘客都笑了起来，太阳也露出了笑脸。

Over the past twenty years or so, great changes have taken place in our life. Take my family for example. My parents contacted others mainly by sending them letters in the past. But now we Call long distance at home. And once my parents listened to the radio for news and other information. But now we get the news by watching TV. Another big change is in my living conditions. When they got married about twenty years ago, my parents lived in a small room crowded with fiirniture. But now we have moved into a big new three-room apartment. In short, our life has become comfortable and convenient.

The 15th National Book Fair was declared open in Tianjin on May 18,2005.

Mr. Wang is a famous doctor. One day he received an invitation to a medical conference. He was happy and accepted it. He got ready for the speech and put the notes into his bag. Then he went there by train. Unfortunately, his bag fell down from the window of the train while the train was running. Mr. Wang was very worried, but he knew the train couldn't stop for him to pick the bag up.
When the bag fell to the ground, a girl was just going past the railway. She saw the bag and picked it up quickly. Inside it, she found the notes and the address Of Mr. Wang. She thought the owner must be worried about it. So she hurried to the post office at once to send it to Mr. Wang.
Some days after,Mr. Wang received his bag before his speech was made. He was both happy and surprised. Thanks to the girl, his speech could be successful. He didn't know who the sender was.However, he decided to find the girl and thank her.
