(Furthest/Farthest Distance in the World 世界上最遥远的距离)  原是中文, 背后有一个有趣的典故。
此诗被误传为以泰戈尔的作品，其实第一段是张小娴所作，后来被一群台湾学生改编了(集體創作接龍 ) .不是英文诗，不是泰戈尔的作品。网上乱说这是泰戈尔的作品的人很多。 用百度或Google搜一下。你可见千千万万个。 这些人都是以讹传讹，自己没有审核过，在别处看到有人说是泰戈尔，便自己也说是“老泰”的作品。 更有些说是“飞鸟与鱼”。其实只要在网上搜一搜泰戈尔诗的英译本看一看，便立即看出泰戈尔的诗根本不是这样的风格。

Addendum II: This nonsense has spread to non-Chinese websites as Chinese enthusiasts of this "peom" start posting it on "foreign" forums such as Literature World, and asking for French and Spanish translation on Yahoo. People who are not familiar with Tagore's work thought it was real and reprint it on their blocks.

  This is not a matter of "controversy." It is a FACT that the poem is NOT a work of Tagore's. I have verified this with someone who is very familiar with Tagore's work. This person has done research into the history and lives of poets of many countries of that era, including Tagore of Bengal and Xu ZXhimo of China. She even has an archive photo of Xu Zhimo and  Lin Huiyin, taken with Tagore when they visited India.
